A Lovely Surprise

Okay i have a quick question... What would you do if you found out that one of your best guy friends, who is like your older brother, is cutting himself?

I don't understand why he would do that, he's like one of the happiest guys i know. Was it all just a cover to get people off his back? Or is he trying to tell something? i don't know what to do!!! i feel terrible for being a bitch to him at lunch because he told and showed me and i just couldn't handle it so i kinda ran away from him and i think he told my friends something that isn't true as to why i ran away. i feel completely helpless! i can't even help in anyway! i don't want to tell the counselor because he's going through hell the way it is and he doesn't need MORE hell. but if i let it continue will it get worse?

i need your help...
